For this reason, the expected new consumption is projected uniformly to the coming accounting period.
The amount of the payment on account depends on four factors:- The average expected annual consumption- The length of the accounting period - The currently applicable prices- The seasonal fluctuations
How the payments on account are calculated:
The expected consumption up to the next scheduled reading time
× Current price of work (net)+ Annual-basic- and settlement price (net)+ Turnover tax currently 19% or 7% for water÷ Months until the next settlement of accounts = Invariable monthly deduction
In the 12th month, the customers receive the annual consumption bill: the consumption read from the meter is taken as a basis and the actual amount of the invoice is calculated. From this, the already paid amounts of the payment on account are deducted. The difference is either credited to that on the customer's account or -if more was consumed - charged to the account. For new customers, the payments on account are specified by means of the consumption values of the previous tenant, the customer's details or on the basis of empirical values.
Tip: If you want to check your gas bill, compare the reading on your gas meter with the new meter reading in the statement of account on your annual bill.
Note: Insofar as a meter reading needs to be estimated on your bill, you will be expressly notified of this in a separate information sheet included with the invoice.
